Wensleydale Wool

This hand spun yarn is plum, rust, turquoise, olive and teal green with bits of gold, all a little muted and hazy. and originally dyed by Edgewood Garden Studio, found on Etsy.

Wensleydale is a 30 to 35 micron wool, a long, luster fleece which has shine and halo when spun. People with sensitivity to wool may find this wool a bit too hairy, though it would make a nice shawl with a halo. These sheep are listed by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust of the U.K. as an “at risk.” Do Google images of them, they are great looking animals in their “Rasta” hairdos.
